So there it is. A bit over four hundred pages, and about as close to exactly four years as possible. I didn't plan that, but it was nice that it worked out that way. I still just don't know what to feel; the expected wave of emotion hit briefly last weekend, but otherwise I've been pretty numb to the whole thing, perhaps because it's been such a long time coming. I'm going to graduate in a couple months, and I suspect it will be a similar feeling. Disquiet. Disbelief. And loss.
I'm going to record the last commentary podcast and a final thoughts podcast in the next day or two, and have them up some time this week. Keep an eye on the podcast page for those.
I will leave the forums open for a month or so. After that, I will lock them down. You'll still be able to read through all the old threads, but not post. I'm sorry I haven't been active on the forums in such a long time. I know that's what good hosts are supposed to do. But once I made up my mind that I was going to end FT here, there didn't seem to be any point.
The website is not going anywhere, so there's no need to panic and download everything. I'm not planning to shut it down, and if I do, I'll post something long in advance.
I still haven't decided if I'm going to start a new project, or what it will be if I do. I can just about guarantee it wouldn't be another comic like FT. Epic projects like that are a bigger commitment than they might seem. I've never believed in anything like I believed in FT when I started it, and look how that turned out. When you see a project like Alpha-Shade that just keeps chugging along years and years later even if it's not bringing in the fat sacks full of cash money yet, you respect. They earned it.
If I do start a new site, I'll make a post here, so if you want to hear about it, stay subscribed to the RSS feed. I'll probably continue to appear from time to time on VirginWorlds too, and if I start something new I'll probably mention it there.
