Civil War - Cover

Civil War - Cover

December 25th, 2003

Final project for the worthless figure painting class I took in fall 2003. This is what I'm talking about when I say I didn't learn a damn thing in the class. The faces turned out particularly bad. At least I was able to get some FT content mileage out of it, otherwise the project would have been a total loss.

We were ordered to present the books in front of the class, which I did with aplomb, to stunned silence and a few gasps on certain pages. There was a great deal of confusion over the title "civil war" - which people initially assumed was a reference to the American civil war. (It isn't.) People also seemed to think the large character on the cover was Japanese. (It isn't.)

Medium is acrylic on gessoed watercolor paper.
